Yura Moorush is one of those musicians, whose appearance is closely connected with the advent of club culture in Russia at the beginning of 90s, although he started to study music many years before that - in his childhood played the piano in music school and even sang in a chior. Later, when the first PCs appeared, he became interested in computers. It appeared that he took to two things that his life would later be connected with - music and computers.
In 1991 Moorush together with Vladimir Ladinsky (aka Artego) invented t.a.n.d.e.m. At that time it was a dance duo, and now the only thing about it that is well-remembered is that they used in their performances very unusual electronic music, which was very hard to find. In 1993, having met the MARS band from Tallin, they decided to experiment with music themselves. Moorush made his first track in 1994.
In 1995 and 1996 Moorush worked in the cult magazine Ptyuch, and had a great possibility to meet many people who influenced the Russian electronic music scene and club culture. At the same time he met Roman Belavkin (aka Solar X), who later became his close friend and partner in running the Art-Tek label. They got united because of their interest in experimental music.
In May, 1999 Solar X, who set up Art-Tek Records back in 1996, offered Moorush to run the label together. From that time Moorush was mostly busy releasing Russian experimental electronic music, and it is then when he met his friends musicians Lazyfish, EU, Alexandriod, Mewark and many others. This was a fertile field for his own creative work.
Working as a producer, he started to release his own music, too. His tracks appeared on a compilation Orbita together with works of poets and musicians from Riga, Latvia. He released house music on Trapez and Force Tracks (Germany) and made some remixes for Bi-2, Seti and Sense Hallucinations.
In 2003 Moorush started working with a Russian singer Olga Kurt.
